"AMSTERDAM" collection

Famous as 'the world's largest street party', Amsterdam overflows on the 30th April each year (Queen's Birthday public holiday in The Netherlands) with party-ing pedestrians   -  no vehicles  allowed, except the ubiquitous bicycles. On this day people wear orange clothing and creative orange accessories to honour the Dutch Royal family,  the House of Orange.

Please note: Each of these Amsterdam Canal Houses is cut out around the sillouette of the building (see 'Artist's Story' for more details of materials and construction). The grey background is the wall on which the paintings were photographed, and is not a part of the painting.
